Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She's an American-Mexican actor. She sings as well. Sara Ramirez was raised with her American mother. She encountered a number of racial slurs and led her to feel unwelcome. The confidence started to build in the ninth grade when she appeared in an audition and was highly praised for her singing. This not only increased confidence in herself, but it also changed her career ambition. She graduated from New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. She was 23 when she had her first Broadway performance with Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her debut film, You've Got Mail were both major break. Her most memorable break came from her performance as The Lady of The Lake, in the original Broadway adaptation of Spamalot. She won the Tony Award and received great praise for the performance. She gained more recognition by appearing on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. She is known as a performer and has also released a single as well as an extended show. In her role as an activist, she is a tireless advocate to promote LGBT equality.
